There's one thing I'm not clear on here, did a guard just let the enemy attackers into the castle? IE turn traitor on them? :D

Yup. The 'fig in the second-last panel is/was one of Mackers' personal guard. We first saw him back on 25 November 2011 when we were at the haunted dinner party, and last on stage on the 22nd of January as the "Tomorrow and tomorrow..." soliloquy scared the supporters.
