Stakes are being raised.
"That that" is so very little used nowadays. I honestly would not use it as it's too much like getting fouled up with double negative misplacement. In this situation "that phrase" would be more appropriate anyway IMHO. :D
You question the grammar of characters bearing cleavers? Tough guy...
Yeah, I actually know enough about the English language to know that usage of "that that" is actually a legitimate usage in some circumstances, although deprecated. I have only ever seen that used twice like that in some very old books. Most modern sentence constructions seem to stay well away from that sort of usage.
As for the cleavers, I wonder what happens if you bring one to a gun fight? :D Cleaver's got no range and very little throw damage! ;)
I'm pretty sure I'm riffing on "Princess Bride" there, but I concede your point.
And ambushes change everything.
Prinsess bride? that show that came out in the 80's or something?
1987, if memory serves. And the book's from the early '70s, I believe.
Sorry for the off weekend - between Canadian Thanksgiving, sick people in the house, and my wife's computer's ongoing crises of survival (and the temporary loss of a monitor for a previous solution), I simply couldn't get a comic together. Fingers crossed for a good night this week!
I sincerely hope the sick people are getting better now! :D Will expect a comic when you can manage one! ;)
*scratches another week off the calendar ...
You got technical difficulties again, L.B.? Don't sweat it, will keep checking back for new strips! :D
yup, nothing but crazy times here.
