There's a few more people we've not heard from, admittedly, and just because you've not heard from them doesn't mean that they're out of danger or in danger.
Again, remember the trouble caused by the whole attempt at exploding the author - all these subplots popped out of nowhere, just as the prophecy had indicated. Matcher's attempts to fix things only drew the ire of the author. I didn't quite drop a bridge on him, but a catwalk's pretty close.
Hehe, I like the Frankenstein guy's take on things. "Gift corpse", gotta remember that one! :D What is his name, by the way?
That's Director (company-style, that is) Ioan Munster. His first name doesn't come up often, and I'd even forgotten it. It's in http://yolt.thecomicseries.com/comics/272
He's usually just called "Director" by his underlings or "Munster" by those in the know (like Captain Exposition).
And there's precious few characters I could have adequately break the tension. That there's a lot of fatalities.
(Edited for a typo.)
I'm confused: Is Ioan's surname actually "Munster" or "Muenster"? :)
Ooops, typo. "Munster" is the name. Isn't "muenster" a type of cheese?
Yes, it is, in fact, but this is getting somewhat off-topic for a comment box about a webcomic. I'll therefore ask what that big red thing in the outer corner of the bottom left panel is! :D
So wait...is this a demention where the ULLA stands or not? it doesn't say...
@Lomico - Do you mean the ENLA - the "End Necro-Employer License Agreement" that covers ownership of Undead Quality Assurance's products? That's a good question which has not been covered yet... arguably it's moot since Cap'n Santa Claus appears to have been killed by the caved-in roof piece, but that doesn't make the contract invalid.
@Brickvoid - I'll keep the cheese in the dialogue instead. ;) The large red thing is the suitcase which holds all but the torso of the zombified Brewster Frye. The piece is a Duplo suitcase from my kids' collection... which I should test on them again.
Was Cap'n Santa Claus killed, or did he just become one more of Ioan's employees? ;) I'm thinking that in order to get hired by Ioan, the first requirement is that you're dead. :D
I'll admit that something's not quite right with Damon and that Jeff the Egyptian Magician is a little unconventional, but they're not undead. As for the guy with the backpack... actually, most everyone in Munster's team is alive except for the two mummy gangsters.
I think your break served you well. YOLT is looking better than ever and this big plot twist (twist is almost certainly not the right word, but I'm sure you get my meaning) should make it nice and accessible for new readers. Well done, sir.
Merci, BotD! I can't claim that all my time away was spent thinking about how to enhance things, but a fair degree of subconscious processing must have been on it. I'm hoping that this month will re-establish what's what and indicate the tone.
And also lead to another play. I should firm up my options...
