One of those nights where a fussy child makes comic production tricky - followed by another, last night - results in this late strip. Tomorrow's has been photographed and planned, at least.
Action-strips still have a lot of text for me - and in a way, lots of small bubbles with short "ugh!" and "ow!" declarations take just as long to lay out as my usual wordy bubbles.
In case it's not clear by the re-write, Obidiah Waterhouse (the ice-pick boy) is singing a re-working of Whitney's "I Wanna Dance with Somebody" single from ages past. More music coming up soon!
In case you want to revisit any of these long-lost characters: Zodiac first appeared in strip #19; Makepeace arrived as a cat familiar to Newtana in in strip #10, and was changed back into a human in strip #30. All of this gang were dispelled in strip 46 - two strips after Obidiah first appeared.
Thanks. Now that song is stuck in my head. I tried bashing my head against the wall, and now I'm stuck with "The Greatest Love of All."
If I did "Comment of the Week" awards like "The Comics Curmudgeon" does, you'd be the odds-on favourite for that rhyme.
Luckily, there isn't supposed to be more Whitney Houston in the coming weeks, but now I have "I Believe the Children are Our Future" in my head... and just need to find the cadence to fit "Bionicle" in there to scare everyone!
So is Captain Exposition gonna catch Miller then? I guess he's more concerned with Ramsey.
If I get a chance to put together the bonus strip for today, you'll see what happens with Miller and Ramsey. If not, check back on Thursday!
Cool. Will do. :)
